To further contribute to the goal of using information for accurate decision-making at the provincial and regional level, the project is focusing on the development and implementation of information systems to be used by policy makers and planners for data based decision-making. This includes systems relevant to improving reading programs in primary school systems, teachers’ deployment, and continuous professional development of teachers. These systems include standardized reading assessment tools and a human resource information system (HRIS).
The project seeks to inspire the education policy-makers and program planners to base their decisions regarding pre-service and in-service teacher training and other professional development programs, textbooks and materials development, policy-making, and resource allocations relevant to reading on more accurate data gathered and analyzed through improved information systems.
