The Pakistan Reading Project is working with the National Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (NACTE) and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to assist teacher training institutes (TTIs) to review their programs’ standards and processes against NACTE accreditation requirements and standards. Through accreditation workshops, the project is assisting TTIs understand the accreditation standards, tools and processes. A phased program for accreditation of the Associate Degree in Education (ADE) and B.Ed. (Hons.) degree programs is being initiated. The project is also facilitating the development of strong linkages between pre-service and in-service teacher training programs by devising a framework and equivalence system of credit hours between in-service courses and related pre-service courses.
